Zlatna sopela

11th mediterranean folklore meeting
Mediterranean Folklore Encounters “Zlatna sopela” are an international folklore festival that takes place annually in the beginning of July. Zlatna sopela is under patronage of Croatian UNESCO committee. At festival will take part around 30 groups from Adriatic-Ionian area, The wider Mediterranean area and rest of the world.

Meeting of Choruses

"Naš kanat je lip"
Ever since 1973, once a year Poreč becomes the venue for the traditional meeting of choruses. This event is exceptional since it focuses on the music of Istria and Primorje as well as chakavian expression. The festival is again and again enriched with new pieces of music composed for ‘Kanat’, adding to its established reputation. Regular prize competitions are a strong incentive for poets and composers, since the best compositions are awarded and announced in special music publications.
