Based on the archival material of the museum of Porec and the State Archives in Pazin, Istria, aware and proud of the rich cultural and historical heritage of Porec, festival organizers decided Historical Giostra 2009 to 1672.

The International festival Organum Histriae Umag is a project which aims to protect and revive the organs and organ music in Istria, with a tendency of partnership expansion to Slovenia and Northern Italy. The project stakeholder imposed a challenging mission on himself: to regain the throne of the 'queen among instruments' for the organs and to reinterpret them into modernity.
